No, not that Amazon -- the one on the Internet -- picked up some old movies.
So one night a few weeks ago, I was up too late after a too large dinner at which too much wine was consumed. I was up because I wanted to let everything settle more before going to bed. And because conversation over dinner with friends included discussion of hard boiled detective fiction, film noir and the Hollywood style of pseudo-documentary, I paid a visit to Amazon.
Picked up some DVDs of old favorites: The House on 92nd Street; Naked City; 13 Rue Madelaine and Panic in the Streets.
Watched Panic in the Streets a few days ago for the first time in many years.
I'm now reminded how enjoyable these old movies -- with their innocence and primative (by today's standards) production values -- can be.
