I do really like the sweat in my Fed IV. As time goes on it really does feel nice to wear.
OK, so in the next few weeks I will be deciding ... on the Silverbelly Campdraft ... do I go Imperial or Heritage?
I really like my two Imperial Campdrafts. I like the light weight of the felt. But I would hate to get a silverbelly and end up wishing I'd kicked in the extra down the line.
So ... seriously, guys ... what's the difference? And I mean beyond what I can read on the Akubra website about the width of the sweat etc......

What is the crown height of the Campdraft compared to the Bushman?
I do know the Bushmans brim is bigger than the Campdrafts.
...For instance, what I'm wondering is ... if you had an Imperial CD and a Heritage CD side by side, would the Heritage material be thicker? Softer? Less "snappy"? Or what would be the difference?
...
What I really like about the Imperial felt is the light weight and the crispness, if you get my meaning. When I snap down the brim on my Imperial felt hats, there is a real crisp feeling. Maybe that is also why I prefer the ribbon bound Akubras ... Sqauatters, Bushman, Campdrafts ...

John Lofgren Monkey Boots Shinki Horsebuttt - $1,136 The classic monkey boot silhouette in an incredibly rich Shinki russet horse leather.
Grant Stone Diesel Boot Dark Olive Chromexcel - $395 Goodyear welted, Horween Chromexcel, classic good looks.
Schott 568 Vandals Jacket - $1,250 The classic Perfecto motorcycle jacket, in a very special limited-edition Schott double rider style. If memory serves, the difference in composition is that the Imperial is all rabbit, while the Heritage has a proportion of hare (25%?).
Sam,
By the way, Katoomba is indeed a beautiful place for a day trip. What you don't fully appreciate from the photos until you get there is that you're standing a loooooong way above the tree canopy and the forests go on in all directions to the horizon. Awesome scenery. I should disclose, though, that I'm a Brit and I only moved to Australia about six months ago, so don't assume my knowledge of Akubra hats is that of a native.
Ok, I have the dimensions for the Akubra camp draft (brim and height), what are the dimensions for the modern Open Road?
