The 1949 version of The Great Gatsby with Alan Ladd is playing at the Charles M. Schulz Museum on Friday, February 6 at 7 P.M..
Not only have I never seen this version but admission is $3!

I plan on getting the night off of work.

Do any Northern California Loungers want to meet up at the show?
I'm getting off work at 6:00 then going across town to watch Gatsby.
I hope see some of you there.:)

Sincerely,
The Wolf

I enjoyed the movie. I had read that Alan Ladd was wooden in the role but I thought he was good in the role.
Interestingly the movie starts with MacDonald Carey and Ruth Hussey in "modern day" going to Gatsby's grave and explaining what the 1920s were while film footage showed flappers, jazz clubs and bootlegging. I guess that was to show what Gatsby's world was like for those people that had no idea what America was like twenty years previous.[huh]

Sincerely,
The Wolf
