This Allie Maillard Hat Conformateur is from Paris, France in the late 1800's is a rare and valuable working antique piece.
This Conformateur is a completely rebuilt piece and still shows the character of age with very few minor imperfections.
It is in working order and ready to use.
The brass parts are all individually polished.
The top flap and base ring are covered in very thin naugahyde.
It is adjusted and calibrated, but may need to be adjusted a bit more depending on the formillian you use with it.
There are NO broken keys and NO missing parts.
There are literally hundreds of hours spent on this restoration, as one can see.
The first one I rebuilt some 35 years ago sold to the world famous, Lock & Co. Hatters of London.
With its unique historical significance and artistic craftsmanship, along with the restoration this is a very sought-after item for collectors, enthusiasts, and hatters.
