:)

good morning! i have begun to buy hats. i have several from an old friend. i send them to salmagundi in boston to be cleaned and blocked. they came back like new! some of them were in rough shape!

i have one borsalino panama which i have worn all summer. it is cracking apart at the top, may try to get it fixed. i have a few Biltmore hats from Holland Hats which i like.

unfortunately, i found out about Optimo hats, and have ordered one! The Chicago in Bison Brown, did not receive it yet. they look really great.

question: should i store my hats in boxes?
with cedar inside?
any other hints?

thanks guys, and have a great day!

As to your questions ...

Yes, keeping hats in boxes (hatboxes, specifically) is a good idea. As is the cedar. Moth larvae love hat felt.

Other hints? Shop carefully. Bargains are still to be had, if you know what you're looking for and are patient.

Instead of optimo which is priced out of this world, try gomez hats he is on the lounge and does way better work.
