My uncle always sends me a book for my birthday and I was wondering if there is any books you recommend vintage wise? I was thinking something to do with beauty or sewing or something

Hi baby Butterfly - If you go to the Beauty Forum (right under the Powder Room) the first thing in it is "Books About the Looks". Also in the Powder Room, check out the Sewing FAQs thread, there are a lot of book recommendations in it!

My personal favorites for beginners are the Dover books; Everyday Fashions of the 20s (and they have one on 30s and one on 40s) as they are inexpensive, show good details and descriptions, and youc an date stuff by the year.

Have fun!

Vintage Hairstyling by Lauren Rennells is AWESOME!!! Retro styles with step by step techniques. It has hairstyles from the 1930s, 1940s, 1950s and 1960s. Plus LOTS of pictures. AWEOME book!!!
