I don't often get negative reactions to my appearance. The odd stare or two, but I just think it's because in a world where we've accepted baggy sweatpants tucked into UGGS as appropriate "going out clothes" it's sometimes a shock to see someone dressed in a classy put-together outfit.
As I see it, I'm just trying to bring a little beauty and class to the world!

I went to a family function (not my family, the sig. other's family) this weekend. I dressed in a calf length wool skirt and a short sleeve blouse with modest heels. I had set my hair the night prior, so I was really sporting the 40's vibe. Three people told me I looked like a 1940s movie star (hardly, in my opinion!) but I ended up scoring a small modeling job next week!
A small boutique in town is going to carry the Bettie Page Clothing line (they have a store in Vegas). I know it's more rockabilly, but they want me to model for the line. They are bringing in a hair and makeup specialist...yay! It's very (VERY!) small, I'll be in some of their print advertisements...but I'm very excited. I've never done anything like it. Who wants to take my picture?!?!?
So it pays to dress vintage!!!!
