Cowboy Boots

  1. BB, I have two Hyer catalogs from the 1940's & no mention of a Sandhill boot. They did offer two Ranch boots with extended vamps & minimal stitching probably for the very same reasons you mentioned.

Wow! That style #17 is a damn full two piece boot you could order from the factory. #28 sounds like the Sandhill. Thanks for posting that, HJ. Outstanding!

I certainly don't know all the makers but I'm only aware of a handful that make a two piece. D. W. Frommer kinda started a revival of sorts with that style, often referred to as the Wellington. He's taught a few others, Sorrell and Paul Krause among them.

  3. Didn't think of it until just now but I have an older Blucher catalog. I'll check it tomorrow for the Sandhill. I have several PB catalogs from thru the yrs but they never changed much & I know it wouldn't be him.

  4. Meter postage on the envelope is dated 1989 so the catalog is not all that old.

No Sandhill style other than this tall vamp boot. Detail from the pic & the description are not that great.

That's the style. I'll take a pair. Love that Blucher tulip stitch. The search continues. Of course it could be a figment of my imagination.

  6. I would want different toes but this is my favorite pair in the catalog.

  8. Ray Benson wears a lot of nice boots & has at least one pair of B&W's. Always brings me back to those B&W Rockett 88's I like so much!

Those are good looking boots! The color is great, and the stitching on the foot really is some next level cool.

Thanks, guys! I was really excited when I saw these in the store. I was happy they had my size, too.

The ones that go on your feet. :p

That is such a good color, maybe as close to "natural" as you can get and the tops are great but neutral. Anything goes with that pair.

Thanks Greg. The light and med gray is a nice contrast. I do like wearing them and catch myself looking down at them often. Much like looking at a fine female specimen...hard not too! Kinda weird me thinks! Lol
