Hey all,

I'm in search of a Big mac, test, sears 40/50's style chore coat in denim. I love the vintage ones but paying 500-1500 seems a bit much. Any recommendations or brands?

I have quite broad shoulders 19.25 inches but usually fit in a USA large in most things minus 3 sixteen and more specialized brands where I have to size up to accommodate. Pics for the look I'm going for.

Tellason tried but no back room . JAcket fit when I was static, but couldn't move my arms

I’ve been longing for a Tellason coverall jacket for several years now. Not really sure why I haven’t made one happen yet. I’m curious if anyone has sizing and cut experience with this jacket. Seems the shoulders are a bit wide and the chest a bit narrow. Wondering if the wider shoulders help keep the chest less restrictive.
Any fit experience would be appreciated. .

I've got two in XL and they both fit completely differently. I've a lightweight denim one and that fits me fine but snug with a 44" chest and I've got their unlined heavyweight denim one and that fits pretty loose, like its a size or more bigger.

Interesting. Thanks for sharing your experience. My actual chest measures 38-39” My shoulders measure 18” and generally prefer a sleeve of around 25-25.5”

I’ve been thinking I’d need a medium in the coverall based on tellasons size charts. I’m thinking if I ever hunt down a white oak version knowing the specific garments measurements will be key.

Do you find that the chest measurement is the one to look most closely at?

I think the shoulders are more consistent. The bigger jacket has much more room in the chest while the shoulders are only a little bigger.

I can wear a thick heavy jumper and a light layer and its a good fit in the shoulders on me, but there is still lots of room in the chest. The lightweight one is much trimmer in the body.

I just scored a Medium for a great price. Just the Stock version, but the denim quality surprised me. I have had one of their White Oak truckers for a few years in L. My measurements are very close to yours—38-39" chest, 18.5" is my sweet spot for shoulders, and sleeves 25-26".

My size M coverall jacket has almost identical measurements to my size L trucker:

Tellason Denim Trucker L
Shoulder 46cm / 18"
Front upper chest (narrowest point between sleeve seams) 41 / 16"
pit to pit 55.5 / 21.75"
sleeve (measured straight from shoulder to cuff, not curved) 65 / 25.5"
length 63 / 24.75"
Waist 52 / 20.5"

Tellason Stock Coverall M
Shoulder 48.5 / 19"
Front upper chest 41 / 16"
Pit to pit 55 / 21.6"
Sleeve 66 / 26"
Length 72 / 28.25"
Waist (bottom opening) 52 / 20.5"

Despite the close measurements the trucker feels a bit larger on me. Not sure why; maybe just an expectation that chore coats should fit looser and truckers slimmer? Dunno. Love both fits. They are two of my best-fitting jackets of any type, and both hit the sweet spot where they're equally comfy and look equally good with a t-shirt or a wool sweater.

I don't know when exactly these were made, probably 90's at the oldest, but these blanket lined Big Smith chore coats have relatively wide shoulders.
I don't know if corduroy trim was seen on chore coats in the 40's though.
