Difference between french hairpin and normal hairpin

Hi lovely ladies, would anyone happen to know the difference between these two. They look similar to me. I found this brand Diane carries 2 types of version. One is called a French Hairpin and the other just just says hairpin. The illustration on the box just look the same. Here's a link to the French hairpin.

The only difference that I could see is in the description.

French pin: rounded high tension ends
Regular pin: ball tipped ends

I am not sure how different the ends would be to use. Maybe the hairdressers here know of functional differences in the two types.

Thanks. I'm assuming now that maybe the ends are like more stiff and not so bendable compare to the regular hairpin. Thanks for pointing it out
