DOBBS FIFTH AVENUE STRAW HAT

Just won this 0n E-Bay... looks like the same type straw as my Peters Brothers Indy straw. This one is a c-crown. Does anyone have an idea of the age ?
I will let you all know about it when it arrives, and I get to check it out.

So, it was YOU! Aw, you rat basta...I was gonna'... Ah, hell, good for you! It's a cool hat. I picked up two Pilgrims from the same seller - Buy It Now bargains. So, I bet they all come from the same batch which I figured was late 50's. Lookin' forward to seein' it on your noggin'!

Yep Lucky.. I got lucky this time.
I just knew someone would get it with the buy it now. I think I got a good deal, it looks as if it will need a little work on the brim. If its like my Indy straw a little spray of water and it will fix right up. The auction said it has a 2 1\4 brim, it looks wider than that to me.

Alan, BOY am I ready for spring!!! Maybe this will move it along a little.
I got out yesterday and worked my asparagus bed so I already have the fever!

I've got a few that look very much like this one, and I peg them at late '50s to early '60s.

KY you are talking about a felt hat arent you?
If so a custom in the style of the Dayton may be your best bet, I am not sure about the under welt, but I am sure the rest of the style could be made.

I've sent e-mails to Peters Bros., Dad's hats and Hat Co. I'm waiting to see if they can help me out. Who would you suggest if they can't get one?
I'm sure a copy of the style could be made by a custom hat maker.
I wonder if Hat Co wouldn't have a special order link but I can't find one.
