Someone else knows who Freddy Fender is!:eusa_clap It is odd because a couple weeks ago my Dad asked me whatever happened to Freddy Fender. I thought he had died a while back. But he apparently was singing Tejano in Texas all these years. I guess he didn't make the County Fair Circuit up in Northern California or at least a Reno casino.:eusa_doh:

I was on a wiki Freddy Fender jag not too long ago after seeing him on a NAshville TV show singing his old hits 20 and 30 year afterwords - was still in excellent voice. Freddy, Webb Pierce - dozens of other unique voices that you will not hear on country radio anymore ( Maybe Dwight Yoakum is the exception)

This made me sad. He also played with some other TX greats including Doug Sahm (RIP) in the Texas Tornadoes. Worth checking out. Wasted Days might be the best country song ever recorded.

I remember when "Wasted Days..." was a hit on the radio. It was one of my Mom's favorites. If I remember right, he had been recently released from prison?
