I bought this hat about 2 years ago thinking it was a size 7....it turned out to be a 7 1/4 so I rarely ever take it out if its box! I decided to crack it open for a steaming and changed the C-crown (which made the hat look really boxy) to a center dent.
The felt on this baby is really pliable and insanely fuzzy- beaver felt??
Anybody have any idea of how old this hat might be? When were fuzzy hats popular?

The color in the first is a little yellow (forgot to change the white balance)

I think the fuzzy felt fedora were most popular in the early to mid 30s and that's also my guess on this one. If I can see it right in that picture the sweatband is directly sewn in what has only been done like this until the mid 30s if I remember correctly! The bow looks pretty 1930s, too.

I simply love the special look of these hats, I think the should be great in winter. Sadly, I didn't have the luck to find one like yours for a good price, yet.

Regards,
Henrik!
