for me its a female that is loyal and honest as loyalty and honesty are a whole you cant have one without the other. they are the base of trust and trust is everythin. caring, intellectual, (loves to read and can teach me about subjects that i dont know about), humble, has a good sense of humor, not afraid to speaks her mind, has a strong temperament,

doesnt drink or smoke or do any drugs other than dr perscribed. likes to work out and stay fit, loves her family especially her parents, is a nurturer and loves children and animals,
has very good hygene, is very well mannered and dresses in class, that just a few things at the top of my head.

ive seen alot of pretty girls and women on this forum they look very well kept and classy so i do see they still exist. its not like alot of these young females you see out in the world i guess you would call them the "modern" types that
dress with pants so tight that they look painted on and shirts sooo small and revealin that make them look like they work the corner 9 to 5. i dont know about the rest of you gentlemen but for me most of these "modern" girls are a turn off just
in the way alot of them present themselves manners wise and the way they dress
i just cant take them seriously with the way they carry themselves.

im sure the classy
ladies feel the same way about the males that wear thier pants so low to thier knees or ankles that makes them look like prison
favors that get passed around the cell block. but seriously are these guys aware of how stupid they look? if you wouldve seen a guy with his pants draggin on the floor 30 years ago he wouldve been laughed out of the country or even arrested for indicent exposure but since people are used to seein these clowns its become the norm and class is slowly startin to become extinct.

but anyway for you gentlemen what is the ideal lady for you?

I forgot to include that the Ladies on this forum are welcome to come in and comment too.

Just a note dear Sir - As a rule we don't appreciate being called "females". It is rather de-humanising. "Ladies" is the preferred term, although not applicable to all I realise. If in doubt, stick with "women". :)

You're welcome.:)
You'll find that I am, in many regards, the woman you describe
(if you don't count a good Gin and Tonic as drinking), particularly the "strong temperament" bit. ;)
I'd be interested to read what the chaps have to say to your question.

Interesting your point about men that look like they have just come out of prison. While you wouldn't think that would appeal, consider the popularity of men like James Dean in his time. That "Bad Boy" image went a long way for him. I suppose it is all relative.

Someone who:
->Brings out the best in me
->Is willing to work with me on changing or making peace with my more unpleasant components
->Can take care of herself and the home-front when I'm called to war, and is willing to cope with the baggage that comes from having a combat specialist (nee "warrior") in her life
-Will understand that I come in with certain commitments already made in life, and will at least tolerate if not support them
->Can recognize when she needs help and ask for it, and recognize when I need help even if I don't and offer it

Helpful interests:
->Shooting
->History, particularly WWII and the War of Northern Aggression
->Travel, particularly historical travel and long-haul roadtripping
->Flying/aviation/aerospace

Might I suggest, in order to avoid a threadlock, that it might be a good idea to open this one up to the ladies too? Best keep it general, lest it turn into another "Single and Ridiculously Good-Looking Room" and draw the ire of certain folks with itchy trigger-fingers on the "Lock Thread" button.

You're right. The use of "female" in the first post struck me wrong. Actually, my term of choice for myself is woman. :)

Tis purely a subjective and overly sensitive call.
If I were from another country and English not my first language would the term "female" still feel so dehumanizing?

My ideal woman is a lady. Specifically, a vintage lady, who is deeply into the culture that I love - to the point of being a historian - yet is possessed of her own style, anachronistic tho it may be.

She must be well-spoken, funny, even a bit sardonic, be good with her hands, and have a mix of passions - feminine and not-so-feminine. She might sew and tinker, for example, or collect records as well as recipes.

She must love music, film (not just movies), books, pets, but none of these things to the exclusion of all else.

She must have experience with heartbreak, as I have, but the door to her heart must be at least a chink ajar.

You can make a wonderful list of qualifications. But when you fall in love, the list is suddenly forgotten. (Of course, you don't have to act on the attraction.)

She is . . .

She is the woman who will inspire me to spend the rest of my life doing my absolute best to be certain that she is as happy as she can be.

She is the woman who will be above everthing else in my life; yet she won't want to be on a pedestal but, rather, at my side.

She is the woman who will make me laugh more than anyone else, because her sense of humor is very much like mine.

She is the woman who will be multi-faceted in her interests and has an appreciation for all things, big and small.

She is the woman who will come to me with her joys and sorrows and will be there for mine, as well.

She is the woman who will devote herself to me as much as I will devote myself to her.

She is the woman who will have me thanking her every day . . . for her.

Hmm, my ideal woman personality-wise is independent, funny, smart and easy-going. As for looks, I probably have the opposite taste than most of you fellas. I like girls who are tomboys and dress more butch. I just think it's so cute!

I SO agree.

'Female' has always had a zoologist, latin named, animal identification stench to me. Romantically, Id like to think that human beings are at least one step past that.

Now, back to the gentlemen :)

I think it's becoming increasingly harder to find a lady or a gentleman. Not that there aren't any out there (I know there are many, look at all of us), but it's almost as if we pickier bunch get slim pickins. At least it's like that in my area, which isn't a large metropolitan area or anything of the sort. It's mostly small towns and corporate cities. Considering I'm in the South, one would think that the gentlemen in this area would hold onto some form of our renowned "Southern charm", but that doesn't seem to be the case. Most men in my area are either rowdy, missing half of their teeth, completely unversed on what a gentleman should be, or, as stated above, walking about with their clothes practically falling off (with which I agree, it looks quite awful, and I would rather not have to see some of the "accidental slips" I have seen before:eek:)
I guess what I'm trying to say is I, at least, find it hard to meet people with similar interests and similar mannerisms as myself.

All you gentlemen have very noble lists of what the perfect lady for yourselves would be. I hope each of you find one well suited for you, regardless of whether she perfectly fits the general standards you have or not.
:D
