Getting a leather jacket tailored and altered? (In NYC)

I'm eyeing a jacket on EBay, great brand, vintage, well worn and distressed. How viable would it be to get a 38 chest tailored to a 36? Or in this case, a jacket 20 inches pit to pit to 18 pit to pit, maybe just take the whole jacket in 2 inches? The shoulder measurements are perfect.

I'm just trying to find a nice, slim leather jacket that doesn't leave my wallet so empty --- i'm almost desperate. Hah.

If this is possible, and convenient, would anyone know of specific tailors in NYC?
