Be very careful here. You'll need to ask for the circumference of the sweat or the length and width measurements across the opening. From those, you can use all sorts of hatters' websites to get the size (from the circumference, use an online ellipse calculator for the x/y measurements), which could be 6 5/8 or 7 5/8. It's more likely the latter, but a hat that's more than 6 sizes too small is just not going to make for a good day.
Yes, we've seen an example of this in recent months, and it surprised many of us. If it's older, it's probably 6 5/8, newer, then more likely 7 5/8. But don't always bet on it!
