Does anyone know of a hatter working in the Jacksonville Florida area?

Lefty beat me to it!

From following the various threads here I would say that most of the folks here use Optimo of Chicago for refurbishing hats. Only problem is the shipping costs.gepreston said:Ditto! Was in there in July and had a similar experience. Don’t get me wrong, the owner was a nice guy! I just think his shop is in a tourist area and his prices reflect it. Although recently (very) I contacted the shop about reblocking a panama I’d found at a thrift store and was told that they only blocked their hats and only reblocked hat bought from them.
So, I'm still on the lookout for a decent hatter in this area of the US. Any suggestions???![]()

If you are in Jacksonville then I can meet up with you some time and show you some of Majormoore's work, Art's work, Adventurebilt, and Peter's brother's.gepreston said:So, I'm still on the lookout for a decent hatter in this area of the US. Any suggestions???![]()
Western world about 3 miles south on Blanding just past the SO substation. They sell western hats in there and may do some stretching but I don't think they work on hats.gepreston said:Thanks, I might do that....I did speak with a friend of mine that said there was a western wear store on Blanding in O.P. that he thought did some hat work.....I'll try and check it out this weekend and post something

My wife has one, I had one but my extra long oval head just would not work with a soft panama. It makes the brim distort so I had to let it go. I need to go out to youngerman circle Monday or Tuesday, I can meet you around there whenever you want.gepreston said:I'd like to take you up on that offer!!! Yes, I'm in Jax I actually live in the Argyle area. Do you have any panamas from Bob??
