Help ID this vintage cafe racer leather jacket

It's my job to read the threads, so I can't ignore your posts.

If the friendly and helpful members here had known you were only looking for information so you could sell the jacket, I doubt that any of them would have been so helpful. They get tired of giving information to a one shot new member so he can sell his items.

You speak for everyone on that, do you?

I can’t imagine why people wouldn’t return when greeted with such warmth from you. Perhaps people would be more inclined to stick around and participate more in the community if you showed some kindness.

And who said I was leaving? I’m certainly not passionate about jackets or clothing, but I never said I was leaving. Just because I’m selling a leather jacket means I won’t return? Seems like an odd conclusion to draw.

Making new people feel unwelcomed is a strange strategy to try to get them to stick around, don’t you think?

I believe we get a bit too sensitive, especially in an "Id" this jacket thread. These past threads can go south quick, people looking for a quick value to flip a jacket. Most aren't worth looking at. Then they leave to sell.

There is a wealth of knowledge and information on this site. Run a search for Vintage Taubers jacket and you will get sent here.

I get why people come here. This is where the knowledge is.

To me, the jacket is legit and your questions too. I understand you want to be cautions in labeling it. I appreciate that. You avoided fishing for a value, I appreciate that.

These Id threads can also bring out some interesting jackets.

I was actually referred to this forum after making a thread on Vintage Leather Jackets. I think they primarily focus on military/flight jackets so they recommended this site for this particular jacket.

And I do understand where the other guy was coming from as I’m sure you guys get a lot of these threads. But I feel that is to be expected on niche forums with a wealth of knowledge on particular subjects that many, like me, don’t know a lot about.

He’s right that I probably won’t be a regular daily poster here, but I like to learn about things I’m not familiar with. So I very well could wander and lurk this forum to try to pick up tidbits here and there. But it’s really hard to be a valued contributor to a site when you don’t know much of anything about the subject matter.

I just read though the Taubers thread on here. An excellent example of the information on this site. I'm glad you were referred here.
