This was a 30% formed felt cone from Borsalino
The shape of the crown was oval and indefinite, a white spot was on the edge of the felt. Nothing exceptional also because it had been very hardened with the stiff.
The midnight blue color along with a deep gray was what interested me most
We discussed with Fleur and planned a homburg or lobbia with a contrasting ribbon to liven up the ensemble
This is the result.
Penumbra Hat Co. size 59.5 cm or a slightly large size 7 3/8 in the USA. The measurements are as follows: curled brims and finished with the ribbon only externally measure 5.5 cm, the ribbon with an excellent bow measures 3.8 cm. and the crown at its maximum point is 12.5 centimeters.
Felt is very light and malleable for finger-only shape.
I am particularly satisfied because it is the first homburg that I have ordered to made ex novo, having many of them I have been able to appreciate it in direct comparisons.
It is a "different" than the traditional ones.

How could I neglect the homburg nation and not post this one here?
Mossant De Luxe homburg in grey, called gris d'Auvergne. Size 57 with the brim at 6cm and the crown at 11cm at the center dent. Made for J. Brosson of Toulouse. Brosson was quite a large retailer, that had shops in other places too. They closed down in 2002. Hard to tell the age on these Mossant hats, but I'm thinking late forties or early fifties for this one and it does show some signs of age (and/or character. High quality hat with a very nice hand to the felt. Reminds me a bit of the "castor" hat I had from them. Not a lightweight at 132 grams.

Thank you, Mike. Indeed a shade of grey. Mossant combined the "gris" with geographical names. Steve (@Steve1857 ) has one called "gris australien".
Borsalino Gulaela homburg in Bismuto in Castoro (beaver) felt. Size 56 with the bound brim at 6cm and the crown at 11cm at the center dent. Finally found a Castoro felt. A few members here have one, but these things are rare! The felt is fantastic and it is fairly light at 111 grams. The sweatband does not have the Borsalino logo, so could be a replacement, even though the hat doesn't seem to have been worn very much.
Made especially for Michele Balbi of Napoli. Interestingly it came wrapped in this nice piece of ephemera: a paper Barbisio bag.

Latest arrival 1950s Dobbs Homburg with beautiful black cherry ribbon and binding. The hat arrived in an ample sized box however the seller protectively wrapped the hat in a bag tight enough to leave the brim a bit boxy. Kinda started rounding out over night. The generous crown is about 6 inches open. It does not currently hold any side dents.. in fact it almost seems to prefer open over a center dent. I imagine some steam would allow it to retain various shaping.
