It was top secret at the time, but everybody now knows of the community of physicists located on a New Mexico mesa called Los Alamos. Not everybody, though, knows that Hugh Bradner, one of the physicists there, got permission to film home movies during those years. Aside from a few shots of machine shops and of canisters being gingerly moved with cranes and long tongs, most of the footage shows recreational (hiking, horsepacking, swimming, and skiing) and social (a wedding) events.
