How do I know weather I am a long oval, oval or what ever there is.
I am a size 60 (7 1/2) but when I put on my hat (size 60) I can feel that there are small gaps on the sides. They dissapear when I pull my hat tightly on my head.
Is there some way of measuring what kind of head a person has?

You need to get hold of a conformer (or another of its spelling variants). It's a device that goes over your skull and creates an exact measurement of the opening created by your head shape.
If you have side gaps, you may be a long oval guy. A better test: get your hands on a very very soft hat, a vintage Borsalino and the like. If you are a long oval and the hat is not, such a soft hat in your regular size will be pulled fore and aft creating a wave in the sides of the brim that no amount of home remedies like strecthing, ironing or stiffening, will remove.
