How many jackets do you own?

Do you count your leather blazers as jackets and give them away? Leather trousers as well? How did this drastic change of heart come about?

I just started and am gathering knowledge for next purchase

Recent to oldest
-black freenote moto leather.
- black long Percival wool coat
- black bubble hooded jacket. Merrel
- Uniqlo brown canvas coat that is the most convenience because of its pockets.

4 jackets, I have to purge my closet to make room and some recoup money. Before my clothes were to big recently its too small trying to correct.

But I just realized the question about jackets, not leather jackets so I wasn't being honest as I own three or four.

In terms of the ones that are not for sale and are actually being work (leather jackets) - 1 black and 1 brown. All others need to go.
One denim jacket for summer.
One wool coat for mild winter.
One parka for harsh winter.
That's it. Very happy with it.
Would love a nice N1 though, but no luck so far.

Have a look at the N-1 from Mil-TEC. It costs very little and is a really nice repro. And at this price, you can easily have it made to fit by a tailor.

I want a proper wool / alpaca lined one.
For the actual warmth, not the looks.
Here is one that I'm seriously considering but would likely need to taper the waist a bit at a tailor:

Works surprisingly well. A grab'n'go jacket for me. But I don't get extremely cold and if I do, I have my shearling.
I'm still considering the N-1 from Pike-Brothers. The usual suspects are too expensive for me. I'd rather get another Shearling ;-)

I believe the fleece lined ones are considered generally more comfortable and warmer than the wool lined ones. One of the WWII repro companies, At The Front, stocks one.

I would definitely recommend the PB one! I got one recently that is unfortunately too small for me, but I think it's rather fantastic, especially if you get it gently used.
I wouldn't mind a shearling either someday
Not a big fan of the lettering on the back either, but it doesn't bother me that much.

I don't see how artificial fur / fleece can be warmer than wool or alpaca, but comfort might be a thing there!
