I did a search on the Internet and couldn't find anything that spoke to this question, so I thought I'd ask it here.

John Wayne frequently wore the same ring in his movies - it looks like it is gold with a ruby stone. He wears it on his left hand. I noticed that he wears it in "Rio Grande" as well as "Rio Bravo."

I'm pretty sure I've spotted it in other movies, as well.

Anyone know the significance of this ring?

I'm not sure the significance but it looks like the same ring he wears in The Quiet Man.

The first time I visited the Lounge someone asked about Bogart's ring that he wore in a lot of movies. It was his own ring. Maybe this is John Wayne's personal ring.[huh]

    Sincerely,
    The Wolf

Yep, that's the ring, alright. Maybe it was just his personal ring. Anyone else have any clues?

I propose that it is his signet-ring.

The style looks rather like a "Class Ring".

    Class-rings were descendant from signet-rings, weren't they?
