For your consideration: a late 40's Montague Burton three piece in a heavy brown worsted wool, with lighter brown stripes. This suit is a bit of a mystery, one leg was unhemmed when i received it, and the trousers had been narrowed and the jacket let all the way out with a single vent added to match a later style, yet all three pieces are in pristine condition. I'm not sure it's ever been worn. Trousers have been re-widened and the jacket has been taken in to something more akin to the suit's original proportions. The jacket boasts an unusual single link button closure. Trousers are constructed with a button fly, and brace buttons sewn on the outside of the waistband. there is a watch pocket with a button flap. All the baroque extravagancies one would expect from English trousers of this period.

Measurements are as follows:
Trousers: 15 inch waist with 1.5 to let, outseam is 42.5 (with a one inch cuff), inseam is 31.5, with another inch of inlay at the hem.

Jacket measures 19 inches in the chest, 18.5 inches at the waist, 18 inches shoulder seam to shoulder seam, and is 29.25 inches long. Sleeve is 24 inches long. Jacket is approximately a 38.
