It's the thing that strikes me about LW - they may built like tanks but it's just too flat for me.

Yes, that super tough finish isn't everyone's cup of tea, but you'll be proud of whatever patina or creasing or scars/scratches you manage to put into that armor-like hide. After 10 years or so of rough use, it'll look a bit like the Aero "real-deal" A-2 (areas of heavy grain next to areas of flat, unmarred HH).

Absolutely true, people just don't have patient, they want their jacket developing character over few weeks, which is not gonna happened in LW 4oz+ HH.

LW is fantastic, but I would not say that it is always the best choice for everyone.

You know Sloan I have a well worn (by me) Trojan that has tons of character...just takes some serious riding and using it for what it was made for.. wind, rain and Harleys!
