Just got these at a local thrift store, thought my son would enjoy the military hat, but didn't want to give it to him until he's older if it is of some value...

The ladie's hat, well, I just thought I'd list it somewhere, but was curious if anyone knew anything about it. Thanks!!

I believe the military hat is a Marine Corps Barracks Cover. Hats in the Marine Corps are all refered to as covers, an old tradition. It is for use with the Marine Corps Service Alpha uniform (and it sub-varients), which is wool and forest green in color. The basic service alpha uniform and barracks cover has been in use by the Corps since around WWI if I remember correctly. The writing inside the cover is unreadable in the picture if you can give us a better pic or write it out it will help in the identification.
