I'd love to see the return of the Cavanagh edge, or guild or mode edge depending on the brand. A sewn overwelt is fine but the Cavanagh edge would be very cool.

I've bought new hats from Borsalino, Beaver Brand, and Biltmore, and Stetson. Aside from the sweatband, the Borsalino has been the best quality, and the Beaver Brand (now out of business) a close second. I want to like the Stetson, and the hats are wearable, but I''m probably not going to buy any more. The Borsalino is worth the extra money.

I just saw some new Borsalino's abad the quality seemed a bit lacking - very thin felt and the lining inside was coming unstuck from people trying them on!

Tough color to photograph, this is probably the most acurate (same hat).

Thank you very much! I've already decided that I wanted to buy a hat Stetson Stratoliner in Delmonico. And now looking for the right color. I like the shade of brown. Maybe the color in the photo, or Johnny. Your hat is gorgeous! And the color is beautiful!

The thin felt is a feature, not a reason to avoid it. In fact, my vintage Borsolino, the felt is even thinner.

As for the lining coming out, if these are hats that "people are trying on" and getting their fingers all over, then it's not surprising. They're not in there very tight. In the old days, they were sewn in. Now, just some double-sided tape or a little glue.

The mink color would be the closest to Johnny Dope's hat in these pics unless your going for the style not the color

Hi, everyone. Do any of you afficianados know why the sizing on Stetsons is so erratic, in terms of the availability of larger sizes? I'm looking for a size 7 7/8 in the Premier Stratoliner, but the only store offering them is Delmonico and, even there, not in the mink. It's odd that even the Stetson home-site has a very limited range.
