Holy **** gents, after reading this thread I'm starting to wonder if this forum is full of vampires or something :D I wouldn't in a million years guess some of you are 50 after seeing the pictures!.

I will be over the moon if I'll look half as good as the rest of you gentlemen when It's my time(still got 16 years until then so not tomorrow really haha).

Cheers ya'll and keep rockin' that leather :D
Hi
You never know sometimes who posting their Jackets. I am not good with taking pictures of me wearing my Jackets so I just post still pictures of them. I have to start posting me wearing my Jackets maybe it will help inspire the younger members to keep up this Great Hobby. I know I spend hours every day looking for the next Leather Jacket I see to buy.

Please do! it's always more fun to see how a jacket wears on body rather than just a picture of a jacket on a sofa or similar.

I'm useless to take picture of myself, but I do really enjoy having pictures of my old outfits saved down so I can go back later and look how my style changes over time, and to se what worked and not with "new eyes", even if the pictures are **** :)

Haha, you and me brother. I need another leather jacket as much as I need another hole in my head, but still I visit Ebay/Mercari/Yahoo/Classifieds, or the makers I love, waaay to often searching/thinking about "the next one"(or just to look at awesome leather jackets overall :D).

Cheers mate!

Thanks, Herrvallmo! You made my week. Although any compliment from someone with your good taste and fantastic leather collection would delight any serious leatherphile.

I'm 66 and wear a leather jacket most days. Here's part of the stash below. I don't consider myself a collector but I'm the current curator of 15 or 20 leather jackets and several nice wools. I yanked about half the stash out of the closet tonight and put them in the pile below. I'm going to trim the herd soon but it's a little tough to get excited about that. A couple of them would fit another person better and a couple of wool jackets are too similar to justify. The rest of 'em though don't eat much and never complain about being in a dark closet so there's a fair chance I'll only cull a half dozen, max. Some have a story to them that means more than the jacket and they'll stay for certain.

On the table is a Lost Worlds leather pea, a black Vanson Model A , a brown Model A, a pretty new black Model B, some Schotts, Dianese (die-a-ness-ay... that always seems awkward to pronounce for some reason), Willis & Geiger, a Brooks, Filson, like that.

If there's a place on this site where a few detail pics of a guy's stash should be placed point it out and I'll take a few shots.

I went by a friend's office today wearing the new Vanson B. Several commented in the room about how much they liked the jacket and I was a little surprised by that. Not sure why. One of the guys had a new Harley jacket and we tried each other's on. That HD jacket was so soft, supple and generously sized that I'm sure it would have ripped off immediately in a slide. It seemed to me like it shouldn't have been sold as riding gear but I don't have to crash in it so I kept that to myself. Sure was soft and comfy though.

One of my favorite winter jackets isn't in the pile. It's a Filson 3/4 length wool; perfect length for a car coat as the end of the jacket stops at the leading edge of the seat so I'm never sitting on that hem bump.

There was nothing about turning 50 that made me want to rethink leather. Not even close.

I'll whip up a few pics and post 'em up in that thread. Thanks.

Nice Collection.

Thank you, Sir! I don't see others dressing in leather jackets all that often. When I do I know that guy's a little bit of an iconoclast in this and other ways, too. At a sandwich shop a couple months ago I had a leather jacket on and across the room of tables was another guy, older, wearing a leather jacket and a fedora. With silver hair piling out from under his hat I knew nothing about him other than that he had thought for a moment about what he was wearing before storming out the door that morning and yes, he had nailed it.

When he got up to leave he turned in my direction, leaned forward a few degrees and with fingers in the crease of his hat nodded forward in my direction. I had no idea who he was but I knew that flourish was one of recognition and it was for me. Couldn't help but smile and I laughed out loud on my way out the door a few minutes later.

A little bit of thought in putting your selection together carries something along with it that isn't easy to articulate but is instantly recognizable. I appreciate the compliment!

66 years old.

It’s funny how different the color of both jackets are indoors vs outdoors

Agreed. I think it's also a little funny that when you see an old goat in a leather jacket, chances are that guy has made an effort to stay in healthy condition. It is rare to see an old fat guy in leather. It's like there's a tacit reciprocal agreement that each take (good) care of the other.
