Here is my newest acquisition from Panama Bob. It is a Cuenca with a brisa weave. This will give me great ventilation in the dry hot 90 to 100 degree plus days in Perris.

This is called a Planters Hat.

It has a three inch brim.

This Panama Hat only weighs 2.4 oz.

Here's a couple of snaps of my PB Cuenca Fino "Rio Plata" that arrived at my door not more then an hour ago. I asked Robert to find me one with slightly shorter brim then average and I'm quite happy with what he came up with (2 ½). On a size 7 1/2 that's almost stingy! :)

Flieger,

I like very much the proportions of this hat - taller crown and narrower brim as usual.

It completes your panama hat collection that has predominantly wide brims if I remember correctly.

Nice photo presentation.

Congratulations and you wear it well - I saw the photo in the other thread.

[ugh. I had some of my photos on a flickr account, which died due to inactivity. I can't edit my older post, but wanted to get the photos back up, now that I have everything in photobucket. Sorry to get your hopes up, but this is a rerun.]

My new Work of Art

Just received my new C-crown Panama from Art this weekend. I haven't counted the weaves yet, but Art told me it was about 800 wpsi. The ribbon is dark burgundy and it is GORGEOUS !!!! I'm posting some photos of the hat, as well as me wearing it at church this morning.

The move is changing. This house is for the birds. We're moving down off of one of the main drags in a town called Cumbaya (My Lord?), which is a burb of Quito. I'm dying from the altitude (chubby!) and school starts tomorrow.

Two days in Ecuador and the hats are nice! It is amazing what the mice will do when the cat is around.

These are all owned by Fedora Lounge member or The Fedora Chronicles members, save two that were commissioned by phone.

School has started and we're moving closer to town. I don't know how fast the cable company is in moving service, so whenever I get back online, I'll put up something in the Steamer Trunk (right?).

Wowww, those Panama Optimos are very nice Robert. Nice workmanship. Here is the PB Monecristi I received from Art. It turned out beautifully.
