I am dumb founded, probably dumb to go with it and will try to be short as I hear my ride coming now. I have been ask if I am Gladhatter and I have replied honestly that I am not. I am really well lost for words yet addicted to them and do not know what to say. I cannot say I am sorry as I am not. I can say I am flattered to be thought the man I believe him to be. I understand that many here never liked him and I just yesterday before , I left finally got to read them post from way back and I have to say I am ashamed of some of the people here and how they talked. That said, that is between you and your maker how you choose to think. I hope to never say poor post any inappropriate thing and I understand this is a forum about hats and that is my passion in life second only to writing and to find a place I can write about hats is a wonderful thing for me. I sure hope that if any one out there has any evil spirit about them and wants to rob me of that pleasure you will change your mind.

If any of you folks hard feelings about Gladhatter then please take them up with him and not try to direct them to me as I am not his slave boy nor a conduit to him. He told me he reads this and all hat forums as often as his time allows and even has others to print them out for him to read at his leisure. So if you do not care to email him or contact him by any other way he advertises publicly , then please write to him direct here or on any hat forum .

I slept on that mans couch last night and expect I will not be seeing him again for some time to come so I cannot tell him any thing from any of you.

For what it is worth, I read numerous Emails from customers of his that I know will read this also as they indicate reading here often. apparently he sends most or all his customers links to this forum and encourages them to read it to learn about hats and enjoy the trade. I cannot and would not point to their names if I had them but I can tell you this much, the general consensus is that you folks bad mouthing him just brings him more business. I do not wish him less or more business as money corrupts some people and how he fares is not my choosing but I reckon you would all probably get him less business with less bad feelings or at least commenting them publicly and I am positive for sure and knowing that it would lift a burden off yourselves. the only person that ever gets hurt with hard feelings is the person that harbors them.

Honestly, reading some of them back post I can see why his customers think some poorly of some of y'all. I reckon you may want to go back and read some of what you have said and think it over and decide if that is really what you meant or feel .

Folks life is too short to go on like this. I bid you all a fine few days and I am heading back to the woods now.

Zane, You have been here all of 7 days and 60 posts and about 90% of them where related to Gladhatter, It is no wonder people think you are him and yet you want to clear the air and more back door slams on folks here concerning Gladhatter and how wronged he was or how he should have been treated. If you are just plain Zane then talk about you or share your knowledge that you have with us on hats. I don't need anymore advertisments on your ex boss or his company's. Is that plain enough for you!!

I can understand how you can feel about some of us believing you were Charlie. The two of you appear to have similar manners of speech, which translates into similar written conduct. This, combined with you stating that you had worked with him led some of us to question whether your posts were just Charlie's posts in disguise.

I think we have now settled it that you and Charlie are two separate people.

As for how Charlie was treated by folks here, he was given a lot of what he gave. That is to say, he wasn't quite so nice to folks around here, so they weren't so nice to him. As far as most of us are concerned, it's settled. If Charlie puts out a good hat that is bought by a member here, it is not judged by what we think of the hatter; It is judged on its own merit. I know that Fedora has 3 of his hats, and RayK just showed pictures of a very beautiful hat that Charlie made. We do not seek to put him down when we see his work. You will see that all replies to any of the new Gladhatter hats have been more than cordial.

Gladhatter isn't going to be able to post here. However, owners of his hats are more than welcome to post pictures of his work. You are even able to talk about him, and/or his work if you so chose, so long as you don't put down other hatters work without good reason, and you treat the members here with respect (something you have done so far, but Charlie failed to do).

With that said, I hope you understand why some of us questioned your appearance here. If any folks here are still questioning whether you and Charlie are the same person, I invite them to PM me so that I can explain how it appears to me that you are not.

Zohar, I appreciate you saying it strit. I thought to be gone now but logigaged around till my copusin when to the store .

I will not change my opinion of the man unless I see differnt in him but I don't need to support his work or defend him. He is more capable than me and has plenty of education to speak for his self.

All that said and done if some body wants to come buy7 me a steak dinnner down in pikeville and bring me a hat and suit to wear to go eat it in then, I will escort you over to meet teh man and I reckon you will find he is a lot uglier than me or so the gals always said.

If necessary, I will also PM you with all future post and allow you to clear them for posting content and appropriateness as well .

I am sorry I did not recognize that you were the owner of this forum or the moderator, and was fairly sure I had resolved this matter with the man in charge and got full blessing to post and reply . I am sorry that you choose to keep hardness in your heart and find such bitterness in your soul that you would need to comment as such. I sure hope you find a more peaceful approach to life and will ask that you please PM me with messages with such content in future that have no positive content and do not pertain to hats as the others on this forum have done in such good taste and politeness.

Now that we are plain spoken friends and you have been so helpful to me in your past post here, allow me to thank you again for your helpful links and generous personality and let us allow this to pass unnoticed as others may perceive your words less benign than I am sure you meant them to be.

Would you consider parting with that beautiful straw hat of yours Or do you know where to find any deals on one of them as you seem to know so many places to get so many things.


I really do want to thank you again and finally for what I am sure you meant to be kind refreshing and uplifting comments and encourage you to please feel free to send me any positive encouragement you may in the future. I also want to compliment you for Your many post in your fairly short time on this forum . It seems the math says you post about 2050% more often than the average forum registered user and I want to congratulate you for your being promoted to the position of the official admonisher here .

Looking at the number of post ratio, I am wondering on a side note if you have ever been checked for this disability I suffer from called Graphophilia. I know you have many many resources on so many things maybe you can refer me to any competent help for this problem.

Regardless I want to thank you and all the kind people on here with so many differing opinions of political correctness. I think it only proper and fitting for me to continue to take the word of the owner and the registered users that have been here far longer than yourself however, until I get my official notification of your new position here.

Charlie is not welcomed here. He once was a member and those were the darkest days of The Fedora Lounge.

Having said that, I have no "hardness in my heart" or "bitterness in my soul ". I wish him no harm and hope he does well.

I just don't allow people into the club who cause a ruckus.

The best thing to do Zane is avoid the subject and enjoy the club.

Zane, I admit to having my suspicions. Too striking a similarity in content, apologetic tones, and "tooting the horn" .

Most new users on a forum don't immediately jump in to the frey with profound justifications for who, what, when , how they are...etc.

I am glad you are you, and he is he. And not Charlie Swindall and his twin brother Zane Swindall.

Ask Charlie...EVERY post I ever did on COW or here was simply this: Judge him by his product, not his promise. I have 3 Fedroa comments and 1 Rayk comment on Charlie's hats. Gee, having done that first instead of damage control later would have been the best advertising ever.

Ask ART. He is getting SWAMPED with work from the LOUNGE because he produces and doesn't just promise.
