Super pickup, Greg! Looks like you scored with that one.
Sent directly from my mind to yours.

Thanks, Jim I believe I did. Can't imagine what a Montecristi of these dimensions and weave count would cost today. I picked this one up for about half of what the MSRP was.

Really nice! I am going to quit ignoring Wrangler hats. It's not easy to find a western panama of that quality.

Thanks, Dd. I'm sure I'll look at Wranglers a little more closely from now on.

Thank you, Rick. Good to see you.

That is a heck of a score Greg! Awesome!

Appreciate it, Harv.

That was quite the score. I really like your crease. A 7” crown gives you lots to work with.

Thanks, Brent. So much crown it's a bit overwhelming. Like most of my westerns, a variation of the "Gus" is where I've started. We'll see if it stays that way.

Just in. I believe this is a German made hat, company name is Windsor. I really love the fairly thin pleated ribbon. The felt is very light and soft. I’m pretty much over the moon. I’ve been obsessed with the cattleman crease... it pretty much turns this hat into a sweet and soft modern Caribou OR... and I think I like it.

Beautiful. In some photos it appears gray and in others blue. I like it no matter what color it is. If it’s German, perhaps @mayserwegener can tell us more?

I know for a fact that he has (or at least had) one exactly like it.... sans cattleman of course... it’s definitely a gorgeous shade of gray.

I have been neglecting my new hats for a while..........
First is a late 60's Cavanaugh with a nice underwelt.

Then we have a Biltmore "Senator" with a Whippet like bound edge....probably 80's

Then I have this private label of Stix, Bauer & Fuller from St Louis........pricetag behind the sweat is $12.50
Late 40's early 50's. Wider top binding with narrow underneath. This was a very, very dirty. Required a complete cleaning and blocking. I really need to re-flange it as well but does not look to bad now. Does anyone know who the jobber was?

Depending on where you measure the brim it varies from 2 1/2” and 2 5/8”. For what it’s worth I do like the hat.
My 2-1/2" brim turned out to be 2-9/16" to 2-5/8" on the sides and 2-3/4" front and back. It's almost a palm leaf Fed IV. :D And yeah, I like mine a little more every time I wear it; I just wish I could decide which hat band/pug I like best on it.

The interchangeability of the pugs and band give yours great versatility. I love how easy they are to shape and reshape.
