My $12.50 lot of "straw" hats arrived. Mixed emotions, but what do you want for $12.50? Came with a couple of vintage hat boxes as well.

Here is what arrived. First the Penney's Dynel (synthetic fiber). Hoping some water or steam will allow reshaping.

Next is a Winston Panama. Nice hat. Not so fino...

Then a Hopkins. Nice weave, but has measles. Will probably try the oxalic acid clean-up. Need to research the sweatband to see how to condition it.

Lastly the Pedigree Panama. I about cried when I saw the cracks. May try to repair them, but might let the next guy worry about it. If it fits my wife we'll make that decision. None of these fit me.

Wow! Congrats. That Dobbs box alone must be worth $12.50. The hats look good project hats in themselves. Bringing hats back to life is all part of the fun. Keep us posted, Bob.
