Excellent!

Picked up this Mayser imperia:

Designed in Germany, hand-woven in Ecuador, finished in Slovakia.

“Genuine” Panama straw
4” ventilated crown, with adhesive reinforcement at the pinch
2-1/2” brim
Cloth sweat band
1-1/2” light blue grosgrain hat band

A faint stamp on the straw looks like grade 4 Cuenca. It is a decent semi-colada with an underwelt brim, and the reinforced crown, I think will help it hold up to my humid tropical lifestyle.

@mayserwegener I intend to visit the German hat museum in Lindenberg some day.
http://www.deutsches-hutmuseum.de/
I know there used to be several hat companies in the region over many decades.
Do you know if there are any of them are still producing there now?
Georg, Mayser Hats headquarters and design center is Lindenberg but Mayser moved production to Slovakia in 2011. Seeberger is close by but they make women's hats. The Deutesches Hutmuseum is housed in the restored Ottmar Reich hat factory. I visited back in February 2016. It's definitely worth a visit.

Another new old hat for me. Another 7X I picked up earlier this week. I think it a very late 60's or earlier 70's, as I saw a 3x on "the bay", that had the same crest on the liner, that had a sales receipt dated 1971. Anyway, it's a nice hat and only had a couple small stains. The felt is somewhat soft to the touch, but the brim is rather stiff.

Edit: I had a “duh” moment about the crest on the sweat. The one I was talking about is on one of my 25’s. It has the small round crest on the sweat that is turned 90 degrees from ones like on this hat. Sorry, my bad.

I’m with you, Bob I liked that one too! A hat like that one won’t stay there that long.

...and that hat didn’t stay there long at all...
Presenting “the Whiskey, Neat” (though I’ll probably rename it).
I couldn’t help it. It called to me like the One ring...

And I couldn’t be happier with it. My irresponsibility is being tempered by selling a good couple of hands full of other hats and pipes in my collection, and I think it’s well worth it.

I’m hoping this will satisfy my decade(s) long itch for the Russell Crowe 3:10 hat and the Depp Dead Man hat, combined, with enough difference to spin it my own (Greeley’s own) direction.

“Buckskin” basically sand colored pure western weight beaver. 2 1/4” brim. From the shelves of Greeley Hat Works:

Hückel Weilheim "Chamois", 58 cm, possibly mid to later 1950s. Another gray Hückel Weilheim "Chamois" with a small Blue Jay feather so apparently they came with the hats. Click On Photos!

Looks incredible. Every time I see a similar color combination, I just think “glow.” Beautiful, Steve!
