Here's one I picked uplast week, sadly it's too small for me but I had to save it!
It's an Attaboy and I guess it's a 1950's model, felt is very thick with no mothing at all in fact I don't think it's been worn...sadly there's a tear to the slightly dry sweat band where I guess someone's tried it on;

Colour is more of an olive and less brown that is appears , ribbon colour is more correct.

picked up two new hats recently. a positively rich Art Fawcett in a tan featherweight fur felt - 2" brim on this. got it used and it's a real keeper. then i got a Hopsie Hats beaver fur felt in silverbelly - 2.75" brim. thinking of selling this as i'm not quite sure it's for me. feel free to offer thoughts on both.

Just finished two hats for a fellow that wanted one for "hacking around in" and one for "dress up". We went with an open crown in midnight brown with brown 1 1/2" ribbon for his casual hat and the other in ***metal gray with gray binding and black 1 1/2" ribbon for his business attire. Both hats are rabbit fur which he chose over beaver due to cost considerations. Still, these hats should afford him a lifetime of use and cover most of his hat wearing needs.

Thanks DOGMAN. I really had to resist the urge to give it a tasteful bash. Like in the old days, all my customers get their hats open crowned and then I fire up the steamer and bash them to their liking, but some just like the open crown look and stay with that.

**XXX Marque Grand Luxe velour from the second half of the 1950s. The coating over the fabric reed cover was flakey on these - but very nice hat. Sold through Roman retailer so the size could be Punti... good luck!

Thanks for the kind words but I have to admit that the eBay listing helped provide a little more detail. I have owned several of these. They were sold through the larger Borsalino channels (I've owned and seen several others from Marshall Field) in the U.S. These were labeled with U.S. sizes. The ones I purchased were virtually in mint condition, with the exception of the reed casing which was covered with some sort of colored varnish coating that had flaking off in many areas. I found that a finger nail worked well to remove the remnants, leaving a clean exposed fabric channel for the reed which satisfied me. Robert posted a 6X I believe, the ones I've handled are 5X velour - a fine example of European velour.
