Last one (for now).
Peschel velour fedora in grey-brown. Siz 57 with the raw edge brim at 5,5cm at the crown at 10cm at the center dent. This one has some age to it and could well be before WWII. The moths had a go at it and took a few nibbles but nothing too bad. The liner is in poor condition and doesn't add much to the hat, so I might take it out. The felt is wonderful.

Here are some I did not take pictures of due to weather condition being awful.

Barbisio Misto F a g g i o (beech). Ruvido (rough) finish. Size 56 with the overwelt brim at 5,5cm and the crown at 10,5cm at the center dent. Nobody and I do mean nobody does shark gills like Barbisio does. It's enough to make me buy a green hat; go figure!

Stefan, what a great haul, or portion thereof! This Barbisio is wonderful. Reminds me of my heather green Borsalino Renna I had long ago. The heather green felt and felted edge look nearly identical, but no gills on mine. I sold it quite awhile back because it was a size too big, but I wish I hadn’t! Most excellent, sir!

Typically I’ve only ever had a small smattering of straw hats, but here’s a third one I bought recently. Just a Stetson Milan. I must be feeling delusionally optimistic about the weather in March this year.

Thank you, Jeff. These Barbisio hats are worth picking up if you spot one. That Stetson milan is a cool find btw; should force out the good weather now.

Thanks for confirming I was thinking by the liner and sweatband it was early 50s but wasn’t certain but that time window makes sense

Sharing a recent custom piece made by Ivan Stankov of Feltera, based in Prague. He runs his shop through Etsy ( I apologise to any mods if this violates forum guidelines around adverts).

Great experience all round and really pleased with the result.

This is my second hat from Ivan, my first being slightly more… Time Lord-ish.

I’ve gone for an open crown this time, as I’m currently on a bit of a Billy Gibbons kick. Keeping it open for now, but there’s enough wiggle room if I decide to shape it differently down the line.

Specs:

Black rabbit fur felt (turns out I didn’t actually own a black hat)

2cm tan ribbon

Head size: 63cm

Crown height (open): 14cm

Brim width: 7cm

The proportions work well for me, and it’s handy having the flexibility with three weddings lined up this year, which is my idea of absolute torture.

Big shout out to Ivan at Feltera on Etsy for the craftsmanship and communication. Highly recommended if you’re considering a custom build.
