MB5 - I sold several boxes of those about 5 years ago. That company made several styles, and mine were all "Mark Twain." I believe they brought about $150 per box. I was stunned.

A new 30s/40s shirt ...

With that pointed collar we all love. Close up of label gives best indication of fabric colour.

And a couple of features. The button-bearing part is backed with linen.

I just picked this up. Any idea on the age?
It's probably just an 80s skinny tie, but I liked the design.

There is no liner and the tag reads:

60% ACETATE
40% RAYON
RN 1727[Degree Symbol]

And here are my flea market finds of today:

A vintage shaving set with a bakelith razor and accessories. I got all in a wooden box with a mirror that says "Kammkasten"(which means comb box). Looking at the font and the style of the box I'd says the set is from the 1920s or earlier. Could that be?

I also got this silver cufflinks which I date to the 30s or 40s:

Here are 3 dozen of a lot of about 60 ties I won off eBay in October for $125. Among them (first picture, 2nd from right, bottom row) is, I think, the butt-ugliest tie ever to cross my doorstep. Silver-gray, red, and lavender? With a design that looks like, I dunno, chains or ropes or something?

And! a J. Crew windowpane tweed coat in a very authentically 1940s cut. $45 second hand and not a mark on it. :)

got some new shoes by Jeffrey West:

they are quite pointy. the leather has a pre-aged wrinkly look. note they have a toe cap style with the mysterious 'gap' similar to these 30s shoes:

Sharp, Kid - very sharp.

Maybe you can help me with a British term. I've heard spectators called "co-respondent shoes" – not as in reporters, but as in the gigolos you used to hire to "prove adultery" with your wife as preamble to divorce. Anything to that?
