  1. Found a few keepers this morning at an antique mall. $1.00 each. Excuse the holiday table cloth background - kinda messing with the colors.

    J. C. Penney's, 100% polyester, 55" x 4". (Not that old, but I liked it)

You have some gems there Bob. Good hunting. I like your favorite, but the rampant lions Regal is pretty sweet too.

Great finds Bob! Some really fine brocades. Of course, my favorite is the red one with the atomic chevron pattern.

Nice. Very nice. I don't run across many hand painted ties.

Thanks Michael. I don't see a lot either. Even fewer at a price I'm willing to pay.

I hear what you are saying there. Even though I've always bought my ties on the cheap, as the collection has grown into the hundreds I'm getting even cheaper. Ha ha. I need a better place, or at least more space, to store them ready to wear.

    Great! I love these horse-ones.
It's hard for you to find some? Imagine the German vintage tie market! :(

Here is one I picked up yesterday ready to go out on the town.

As you can see it's very short. Made by Regal-Aire of imported fabric loomed in England of worsted wool and mohair. Has a couple of small moth bites, but oh well. I'll probably have more photos from yesterday's haul up sometime later today. Maybe.

What I believe to be a 20s Arrow tie
The color goes well with the stripes on my shirt

  19. Nice ones Michael and Luftwaffles! I need to start wearing vests so I can wear some of the short ties I have. I'm fat and mostly torso so the ones I have look a bit silly on me with just a dress shirt. Even worse than this:

    Are those girls twins?

I would have thought that your beard covering up the entirety of the short tie would have been the bigger problem.;)

    Here's my collection from yesterday.

I'll put up the more detailed pics after I finish my salad. I'm old enough to eat on the early bird schedule nowadays.
