Wouldn't it have been sufficient to just add a comment saying "Sold" instead of removing the original listing text and replacing it with "Sold, please delete" which provides no value?

Yeah it's always much preferable to keep the record of the listing for future reference for other buyers and sellers. One of the most valuable parts of this forum!!
