I don't understand why the spearpoint collar is so hard to find at an economical fair price. I had a google tonight but still very hard to find. I see them all the time on American films and TV productions and yet they are virtually impossible to come across in the UK unless you are prepared to pay a hefty premium.

The shirts you've been seeing are usually custom made for those film and TV productions by 'Anto Beverly Hills'. For the past two decades, 'Anto' has made more shirts for Hollywood than anyone else. Contact them and explain that you want a 1930s spearpoint collar style. They'll be able to do it.

Bottom line: the film/TV industry isn't paying economical fair prices for those spearpoint collar shirts either.

    • Is it 100% period accurate? I don't know (and don't really care).
    • Does is fit well? Yes. The fit is amazing.
    • Is it comfortable? Incredibly comfortable.
    • Is it my new favourite shirt? Yes.
    • Was it easy to order? Yes
    • Did they make the shirt exactly as I asked? Yes - I simply said 'here are my measurements - make me a blue shirt just like the yellow spearpoint one posted on the FL.
    • Will I be ordering from Luxire again? Certainly
    • Would I recommend Luxire to others? Yes, definitely.

So there you are. That's my happy feedback on Luxire shirts.

    Luxire Shirt Order

Including shipping, it came to £38.90.

I think that is the best price I've seen for spearpoint collar shirts. I believe that is less than half the price of the shirts that Marc Chevalier worked on last year (the company name escapes me at the moment). It is also significantly cheaper than the Darcy Clothing (Vintage Shirt Company) shirts.

The fabric feels very soft but it is also nice and thick, unlike some of the very thin shirting you sometimes find.

This is a fantastic looking shirt. Right down to the fabric, it is virtually identical to a shirt made off-the-rack by 'New Republic Clothiers' more than 20 years ago. Unfortunately, New Republic is long gone, and no one has taken its place.

Two Types, does your Luxire shirt have removable collar stays?

Looks like the five year (300+ post) search for a good quality, reasonably priced, spear point collar shirt is officially over. Luxire is the winner!

I am very impressed. Especially considering my recent less than pleasing experience with Jantzen.

Luxire, how much is shipping to Germany?

I got a heavy white oxford and an identical one to the example in their vintage blog - I chose the same exact style, except included a breast pocket and button cuffs. I would like to get a couple in either green or camel with the spear collar and double pockets with the deeply scalloped flaps (like the "Rangoon" military shirt). Wish they had some cotton/wool blends like Viyella cloth.

    Outstanding revue !
Thank you for taking the time to post up & reply to my request for a update !
I also ordered one yesterday in the 3 stripe blue oxford, requesting identical to the yellow vintage shirt posted.
I was ready to order 3 shirts but kept it at one due to no FL member post up as of then & i also sent a PM to the Luxire member here but recieved no response via pm. maybe he cant recieve messages yet or ?
I did finally Email the company yesterday with a rapid response The lady was so helpful & responsive i had to order, She guided me through the order process which confused me with there defaults not related to this particular shirt......any way she was just so helpful so i look forward to my 1 shirt with possibly more later on.
its a small order 1 shirt but the service was great.....
say ? did you request a pocket ? i dont see one on the yellow shirt posted, hmmmm oh well maybe it will arrive with a pocket.
Very nice overall & most important you state the fit is great without that (fit) it's nothing no matter how good it looks...
Today i tried on some RRL & LVC shirts in San Francisco & 6 shirts tried none fit well....good thing i tried before (no) buy...
    Enjoy your shirt !

Hi SB, apologies for not replying to the PM. Just saw your message. Was not aware of how to receive email notification of private messages. Have made the change now.

Responses going forward will be swift.
