Well, I finally found a hat that fit my "strangely shaped" head. LOL
Spent last Saturday at a local antique flea market. Among all the furniture, lamps, dish ware and other manner of tchotchke sat this little jewel. It's a little dusty but looks hardly used. Plopped it on my head and it fit!
It's a 7 3/8 Dobbs that came from Raleighs. I'm guessing that Raleighs is an east coast department store that no longer exists. The felt is smooth and clean and the leather shows no sign of use. There is still an "inspected by #4" sticker inside the leather and some initials on the inside silk.
I might add a narrower ribbon and have it cleaned but that's about all.
Anyone know about when this hat was made and what it was called?
Thanks,
Tom
