A few other shots of this No.1. Raw edge 4” Pencil curl. Nice soft felt. 6 cord ribbon. Not near as pliable as the Boss Raw Edge but respectable. The crease came with it.
I kinda like the red ribbon.

I got this No. 1 on Ebay last week. Looks like Bowen and I picked up similar hats. I think mine is newer by looking at the SB and size tag. But I like it.

Lastly, this one. I don’t know about this one. It’s like “the little brother”, 3” raw edge single cord. I believe it is the youngest of the three. Idk. More fedora’ey that the others. It could use a bath as well. I outta call it “dirty birdey”. Ha
I find interesting the 3 diffrent type embossments as well as sweatband quality relative to their ages. It seems older is definitely better!!

Is the size label gold printed, or black on manila stock? Can you post the labels behind the sweatband? This the later No.1 Quality mark, but I have seen one or two that date back to c.1940.

Is the size label gold printed, or black on manila stock? Can you post the labels behind the sweatband? This the later No.1 Quality mark, but I have seen one or two that date back to c.1940.

Sure can Alan. The size tag appears to be black on manila. No date stamp on the band but i included a lot stamp image as well. I’m impressed how crisp the labels are. The pencil signature appears to be “Stook”. Thanks.
