G. B. Borsalino Fu Lazzaro & C.

G. B. Borsalino Fu Lazzaro & C., size 6 1/2 Punti. Could be 1920s early 1930s. This one is in good condition and from the other Borsalino.

Robert, Thanks! What date would you put on it? The paper label looks pretty old. The sweat threads are very delicate so I couldn't get a photo.

I don't know beyond 1912-36 unfortunately.

Perhaps this catalog from one of the last years will help(just found in Italy and ordered)

Garrett had a few in recent sales and I have one in poor condition. ScottF also sold one some time ago. Photos don't come up in searches.

Not to be confused with later use of the reregistered trademark by G. Borsalino et Fratello(1959-82, 2 applications and expiration)

Robert, Thanks again! I did find these from Garrett's eBay auction so I decided to save them.

5 1/2" Bashed crown

Borsalino Alessandria

I picked this up about a month ago; just getting around to posting it. Darn I love this hat. I see what all the hype is about on the older Borsalino felt.

I dry creased this hat with ease. It amazed me how easily it will shape, and how well it holds the shaping.

The first pics are from the person I got it from. The others are after I got it when I put my diamond crease in the hat.

I bought the white Borsalino fu Lazzaro last month from Garrett. It was without doubt the dirtiest hat I've ever handled; a thorough hour long brushing session outside failed to remove all the dust. I did manage to return the color from a powder white to a warmer ivory-tan. The felt creases like butter, and is the softest and most malleable I've ever owned. It's absolutely fantastic, and I'll post some real pictures after I send it off to Art in the near future for a good cleaning, a fresh reblocking, and possibly something done with the ribbon fray in the front of the hat. In the mean time, the hat is the one in my current avatar.

Nice one, CRM!

Cheers,
