I like dark better. Why do I have a red #1 on top of the Articles tab that I can't get rid of ?
If you click on it and look at the article, the 1 goes away. Or you can select mark articles read and that should take care of it. The articles are good though and worth a look.
Inevitably, my school homework, when it came back marked, would have a red # accompanied by a brief message, always in block capitals: "SEE ME!"
Ok...i’m really really frustrated today on the lounge!!!
At least 10...maybe 20 times, while doing my normal lounge thread viewing, those “You Won” Amazon whatever, whoever popups that won’t go away appeared.
EACH TIME i had to close the lounge and come back and start from the beginning and find where i was.
This started TODAY IN EARNEST, only occasionally prior.
Info: i use the mobile App from an Iphone and have since day 1. Nearly 2 years. No settings changes for phone or lounge.
WHAT’S UP WITH THAT???
I also had to turn my phone off and on 3 times when the lounge “froze” including this attemp to post this. It froze in the middle.
I love the lounge. I spend lots of hours off and on all day every day here. It’s a great place and all of you staff are OUTSTANDING.
But...this keeps up...i’m done here in a heartbeat.
Anybody else have similar probs?
Be well. Bowen
Similar yes. I either have to be in a very good mood or have a lot of time to waste to navigate the lounge now. My visits here have been greatly curtailed.
You wanna watch those browser blocking ads too, you don't know what kind of crap they've installed in your device.
Similar for sure. I now have a love/hate relationship with Amazon.
I hope it doesn’t develop into the same with FL.
Something that I have not experienced before and it's only on The Lounge. Typing a response, I keep losing the cursor and I have learned to cut and paste and then re-cut and paste, every line that I type. Guaranteed I will lose the page and that annoying icon, "Aw snap." shows up. Page gone, written response gone, except that I have learned to save most of it.
I'll quote myself from post #213 for those of you having problems with pop-up ads:
It has to be installed separately on each browser you use, but I now have very few problems with pop-ups on any website.
Thanks, I’m in, we’ll see.
Hi, this is an issue that pre-dates the latest update.
When one types a "reply" that is, for example, two or three sentences and, then, decides not to post it and even "deletes" it by highlighting the text and hitting the delete key (and it disappears) - it seems to "come back," i.e., still be there if you return to the reply box hours or days later.
Where this is a problem is if - in the above example - you come back to the same thread later, hit reply to someone else's post in the thread and start typing your comment, you might not notice that your original text is still there and will post above the quoted part of the reply you are going to post.
Hence, is there an effective way to permanently delete text you decide not to post? Thank you, FF.
Yes, there is. That text is a temporary draft of your post, saved by The Lounge's software just in case there's some sort of problem with posting it. To eliminate it, click on the little "floppy disk" icon (between the "camera" icon and the "circular arrow" icons) in the toolbar at the top of the "reply" window and you should see a drop-down menu that gives you the option to either save or delete that draft.
Hey Zombie...great tip! You seem to have alot of know how with navigating around here.
Maybe there outta be a “FL Tweeks” thread??
Just a thought.
You're very welcome Sir.
I've been on forums like this for well over a decade now, and they're all pretty much the same with a few minor differences. The way I see it, if I'm going to use them I might as well learn how to do that, so a little "trial and error" and "What does this do?" has paid off.
Not a bad idea; a "User's Guide to The Lounge" of sorts. The question is, would people (particularly new members) take the time to read it?
