That goes back a few years. I don't recall the catalog so much as in my youth I once went to a Herters store which was quite a big deal at the time.

My brother totally lived out of the Herter's Catalog. A little like Vermont Country Store, but maybe 20 times bigger. It had a yellow cover, right? Great stuff.

Sure do! Loved their stuff. I still have 64 of their decoys. Then it seems Cabelas bought the brand and squashed 'em.
Wonderful catalog, you could spend days going through it. I still have a 1972 edition, and a copy of "Herter's World Famous Professional Guides Manual".
Nearly every product had a full description and most had a story to go along with it.
Didn't do much fishing but sure spent a lot of time reading the catalog. Some of the books and a smattering of gear are available on EBay of course.
