When did they start making them with the much firmer felt? This one is soft and pliable and doesn't appear to have been worn much.

It is a Twenty-Five.... and sold for said amount.
    So no 7X or 100.
A 7X CB would sell for $40 when introduced and then standardized to $50 for a long time. A 100 sold for $100 when introduced and carried that price for a long time....

Thanks for all the kind comments, gents! This was a fortunate find on eBay, where the seller was asking $325, but accepted an offer for less. I am enjoying the hat and definitely feel good about the deal.

    Thanks @M Hatman.
I do know that. I have all of them including this one.
I was just referring to the “look”. They have a certain “look”.

    Not a problem.
Actually got me to thinking of all those old timer’s posts of pics of those creamy dreamy hats.
    Good stuff!!

Anyone know the name and era of this Stetson Fedora. Just picked it up for $24 online. Original pricetag still in it. 20200303_092919.jpg 20200303_093049.jpg 20200305_095759.jpg

This thread is dedicated to the Stetson Open Road, which your hat is not (but not to worry).

I don’t know how many of the dating guides are applicable to your hat, and we don’t have a lot of resources for mid 1960s and later hats. Are there any tags or labels hidden anywhere on the hat? A location of manufacture perhaps?

Took delivery of my first bonafide vintage OR today. Way too small but the store embossing spoke to me.

Indeed, I’m thrilled to have it even as a display piece. Still on the hunt for a 7 5/8 Young’s :)
