I'm having to pace myself for budgetary reasons! I plan to go in for a 30s suit, though, as well as the Wabash hunting vest.
I feel really stupid. But can someone tell me how to order some of the SJC products? I have a forum membership and my profile was approved, but I have no idea how to order anything...
At the moment, yes. But there is a lot coming down the line. If you're signed up on the forum, then you'll definitely be in the know when they go live ;-)
Just in case anyone is interested, I am working with SJC on potentially reproducing some authentic Oxford Bags: http://sjcforum.com/thread-oxford-bags
This is the toile for the SJC 1930s 2015 Winter Suit. The suit will be made in 16oz. navy blue Donegal tweed. More on this project here: http://sjcforum.com/thread-1930-s-winter-suit
Yes. I don't know why the edge is different. I think the white, wavy edge looks fantastic (better than the plain edge), but having said that I would probably preferred the plain edge.
The plain edge one was the sample; for whatever reason, the wavy edge got missed on that, but it was corrected for the production run. I prefer it with the edging, though I suppose it will need cleaning quicket than the plain navy. Here's mine on Sunday morning just past: I wore the red on out on Saturday: I'm really pleased with these. I hope Simon adds to the range in due course - I'd like to have more in emerald green, deep purple, and some other colours.... A rich, chocolate brown would be nice. I've taken to bandanas recently in a big way. Got quite a few plain cotton ones, but these are in a whole other league. Perfect size too.
Excellent news: Simon's website has gone live and it's available for orders. Some great stuff there, including those elusive jeans! http://www.simonjamescathcart.com/newproducts/
Long time coming. Just ordered the Wabash vest. It'll be interesting to see how it compares to others I have.
I have just ordered one of these from Simon James Cathcart: I met Simon last week and he was wearing one. The denim holds its shape better than any cap I've really seen before. That helps to give it a great period feel. And it's made by Barry Simonds (who you all know). Top style and top capmaker. Simon's only offering 25 of these in this style so, if you like it, it's worth snapping one up. Some of you will know Simon's denim from his Kickstarter, so you'll know how nice these are going to be. He's also offering these styles in the same fabric: I'm not really into denim but some of you might like the other stuff he's offering: He's even got shorts:
