Ultimate Leather Conditioner Comparison (on Reddit)

In my world, all leather wears, ages, and patinas. The way it looks is supposed to change. My concern is preserving so that it doesn't crack. Keep it moisturized. Oil works fine for me. My leather jackets, pants, and boots get oil, and sometimes a little shoe polish.
I agree I just don’t want the leather to crack. Pay close attention around the end of the cuffs and around the collar where the acid from your sweat will dry out the leather and make it crack. Keep that area conditioned with conditioner most of my vintage jackets. I find all have this situation with the cracked leather.

I can personally say Langlitz is great. My Langlitz is over a decade old, and I've been using their conditioner I bought over a decade ago also on it; my jacket still looks fantastic and new. I only apply once a year, normally at the beginning of the riding season.

Both are good mate. I have both to hand obviously.

Most all the others mentioned on this thread are US only sadly.

Both the 2 Aussie products work well. Search them
Bawheid Australian here, keen to hear which of the Aoudy or RM you'd recommend to condition and light polish a Aero CXLHH?

up on the 'net.

I got both from eBay Australia so easy enough.

Bawheid thanks for this. I'll read up on them to see which is most appropriate. I see that Bunnings is selling a leather conditioner now too.

I costed the Aero brand conditioner/polish - 10 pounds per tub, plus 35 pound courier delivery Scotland to Australia!

That of course is a "yeah but nah" situation.
I got the tin tub of RM Williams first, lasts for years.
There are other Aussie made ones on ebay Australia, I have yet to try them but surely will.
International post has become a deal breaker for me of late, on a number of products, so I always look Aussie made.

The Aoudy product smells nicer than the RM Williams, but that's a nose of the beholder thing really I suppose.

^ I ended up getting the Aoudy (eBay from Australia) mainly because it was the bigger container. Smell in the tub was faintly pharmacy/chemist shop.

Used it on an Aero CXFQHH first, went on easily and the smell disappeared once applied. A bit of black colour transferred onto the application cloth, but nothing major. Leather soaked up quite a bit of conditioner over ~ 1hr prior to wiping off excess with clean cloth. Leather is left with a nice lustre rather than a glossy shine, which works for me. Have since treated another HH and two cowhides, leaves all these leathers lustrous with deep colour.

TL,DR - Aoudy works well for any Aussies looking for a conditioner :) Thx for the tip Bawheid
