Las Vegas Recommendations

.....

At the Bellagio is this Atrium room near the front desk that is reset seasonally as a complete garden, this is a great place to take pictures. At night watch the dancing fountains out front.
Very happy memories of the Bellagio! I stayed there with my friend and her family in 2002, and we would assemble in front of the huge windows every 15 minutes or so at night, cocktails in hand, to watch the dancing fountains. Friends staying down the road at Circus Circus would come up to join us.

I was late down to breakfast the first morning, having been up very early to speak to my office in London and explain I'd been delayed (don't think I mentioned a Vegas detour). When I finally shuffled down to join the others, I noted the barflies were already congregating...at 9.00 am.

Grabbing my friend, we joined them...although the sun was not so much not over the yardarm as barely over the horizon.

While her husband and son enjoyed the myriad of pools, we sipped daiquiries and giggled at the fact that, lovely as the cocktail waitresses in the teeeny tiny skirts were to us, they weren't paying us quite as much attention as they were the men who had gone for an early morning tipple.

We stayed at the Flamingo many years before - good times there as well.

Lincsong,

Any reccomended places to find good tables (and by good I mean with people who are terrible at poker so I can win :D)

Of course, the definition of good expands--reasonable buy-ins, nice atmosphere, minimal chance of getting my very own plot of land in the desert that's 3 feet by 6 feet and about 2 feet deep, you know the drill :)

Cheers
Craig

Binion's in the Downtown Section is supposed to be a geat Poker place, but i don't know how it goes for novices there. They just might have a special program.

If you get a chance, check out The Attic-it's a HUGE vintage clothing store. I think it costs $5 to get in. My husband and I had big plans to go there, but alas all the booze and gambling got in the way. [huh]

I'm going to Vegas for the first time in two weeks as an early Christmas gift from my work!!! They are taking the whole staff of the bar I work at :D

Anyhow I will have to check out the Attic. I have never heard of a thrift store with a door fee!

Do you guys have any more suggestions for shopping there? Any good burlesque shows or vintage styled bars worth checking out?

You HAVE to got to the Paris and have a Filrt Mignon ast "Mon Ami Gabi". It's the BEST STEAK in the world!! THEN, go to Napoleons for the Champagne sampler, fine cigars and nice Jazz music!!

The Attic is not in the best portion of town, so the have a fee, I think it is a membership fee, to keep out the riffraff.

There are some places in Las Vegas that are "Old Vegas" but they keep blowing up or tearing down so much stuff it is hard to know what left.

For an old Vegas feel i would Suggest catching "The Rat Pack is Back" at the Greek Isles.

I wonder if there is a Old Vegas Society or group that has listings of Old Vegas.

Red Robbin is one of my favorite Antique stores.

These may or may not have been mentioned but do go check out the free shows infront of the casinos. The Bellagio, The Mirage, and Treasure Island have some cool shows...assuming none have been torn down from when I was there about 8 years ago.
