I'm really loving this look. Looks like something I would want to wear. http://pipeline.refinery29.com/pipeline/img/grace-kelly-st.jpg
I adore this young lady's style. I know that I couldn't pull it off - but she looks adorable to me. She generally throws some vintage into her daily outfit and I think that the look is still quite modern. I love this collection of pins that she attached to the dress. I would never have thought to wear multiples. http://www.theblackapple.typepad.com/somegirlswander/ her blog
Oh yeah, she has class and style! Love her outfits especially these two. I could definitely see myself wearing these.
I love her art! It's always fun when different avenues of your interests overlap and you find familiar faces on different websites
I've just gone through this thread from start to finish and really enjoyed myself I'm definitely one for mixing my styles and eras. I just pick and choose what I like (and most of that happens to be from late 30's - early 50's). I don't have the time or money, or possibly inclination to be a purist for any particular era. For starters I'd get it wrong and have my confidence dented quite easily I have to agree that not all the photos here would be what I'd choose to wear myself. But, oh how I wish more people round me would dress with a bit more thought. I yearn for the days of students all trying to outdo each other to be 'different' rather than sitting in their little crowds of denim&tracksuits staring at anything with a bit of colour.
Purists May Have to Avert Their Eyes! From StyleSightings I would definately say that she's much more pin up retro than vintage inspired, but I like it anyway! better than sweatpants and UGGS! From HEL Looks Simple. Cute. More vintage inspired. From Copengagen Street Style Very beautiful girl! Love her look!
I don't know that she hasn't been posted on another thread but i just adore her and her escort. This was at an easter parade, the dress is a vintage couture piece by Oleg Cassini I want to remake the dress, i want the whole outfit.
I was scanning this thread for ideas, and I just noticed this dress. I had to sell it because it got too big, but I had this exact same dress! I'm sure it's not the same one though because she looks small, but wild anyway! And it sure looks more vibrant with their camera.
I adore this thread! So I thought I'd add to it (from Hel-looks): Riikka (23) "Now that I've got older, I dress up like a 50 years old Brittish lady going to a bridge party. Minna Parikka bag is the only bag I use. And the black vintage hat has lived on top of my head for three weeks now."
love this thread... whether someones take is authentic, vintage-inspired or vintagesque quirk its always wonderful to see it out in the streets of the real world rather than in "staged" scenarios... so i decided to do a bit of hunting to show you ladies whats out on the streets of melbourne town... unfortunately i didn't come up with much - the following two images were the best ... (which has certainly inspired me to make sure i carry my camera everywhere now to capture what i find on my own street strolls) the most frightening thing is i came across an image of myself (kinda creepy since i'd forgotten all about it even being taken!) it must've been about two months ago whilst i had snuck off from work for a sneaky cigarette break in a quiet alley (as i work for a vintage-inspired label i am wearing mostly new vintagesque but the shirt & accessories are all original)
I love the vintage inspired looks. I think they are lovely. While form time to time I enjoy being a purist it is next to impossible for me this gives me some inspiration.
From StockholmStreetStyle: - I am wearing boots from Chloé, my grandmother?s dress, a bag from Balenciaga, belt from Armani, sunglasses from Ray Ban and a headpiece from my own label Rekonstruktion.
