A Palm Beach label with an (R) is certainly not 40s/50s, or am I wrong? The jacket itself looks 40s/50s, though. Maybe a 80s does 40s/50s jacket?

Looks to be PB cloth. I would say this is from just after the transition away from the Goodall-Sanford owned PB company, and "The Palm Beach Company". So early-ish middle 50s
